Leonard Matz is an independent liquidity risk consultant. Previously, Leonard was the international director of liquidity risk consulting for Bancware and Kamakura. He began his career as an Examiner for the Federal Reserve of Cleveland and subsequently spent 15 years in senior risk management assignments at three US banks. Many know him from his influential books on liquidity management and ALM, including "Liquidity Risk Measurement and Management: A Practitioner's Guide to Global Best Practices" and "Self-Paced Training Guide to Asset/Liability Management". Leonard has worked with bankers on 6 continents to review and revise their liquidity risk measurement, contingency planning, policies, documentation, and reporting. Bankers and regulators worldwide acknowledge Leonard's influence on liquidity best practices.

One word summarized this book--horrible. The problem for McDonalds was that they had to lead evidence to prove their case. The man who took a Rose Bowl beat down, and applied similar results to two top 15 programs. ANY other book is infinitely better than this one such as: "Introduction to the Theory of Computation" by Michael Sipser (really good AND got good reviews from other people here; see for yourself; shows I'm not alone) or "Languages and Machines" by Thomas Sudkamp (pretty good) or "Computable Languages and Abstract Machines" (excellent) by Alan Parkes or "The Language of Machines" by Robert Floyd and Richard Beigel. Mr. I picked up Laura Lam's book anticipating an extremely anti-US account of the Vietnam War, but interested by the prospect of an insider's view. Great book with lots of information.. Even though I strongly disagree with his opinion that it's science because it hasn't been disproved, reading his common sense approach the the subject is refreshing.
