The short book is designed to help preservice and inservice teachers of math become better math teachers. It discusses the goals, design, and implementation of math lesson plans. Both elementary school and secondary school teachers of math should find the content useful.
Pindyck in particular has an excellent treatment of this topic which is far less confusing and actually teaches the students something about how agricultural price supports tend to work.
Also - you would think given its Freakonomics roots, the examples would be more entertaining than other intro micro books, but that hasn't yet seemed to be the case.. viii).
It is the author's great merit to have chosen Darwinian evolution as the overarching explanatory metaphor explaining the evolution of technology. There were exercises and review questions at the end of each chapter, which helped us to measure our knowledge after completing the chapter. I don't have a problem with a "just for fun doodle book," i was just thinking this would be somewhat educational, or a springboard for talking about things in different states.
